Located near the heart of Dungannon town centre, this residential development reimagines the historic site of the former Dungannon army barracks. A key feature of the project is the sensitive restoration and integration of Killymeal House, a listed building that had fallen into disrepair. The house has been carefully conserved and now forms a central architectural and historical anchor within the scheme.
The development comprises 79 new homes, including a mix of 3- and 4-bedroom detached and semi-detached dwellings. Each house type has been designed to reflect the period character of the site, with architectural details such as sash-style windows and arched render features that echo the heritage of Killymeal House. The design approach ensures a cohesive streetscape that respects the site’s historical context while delivering high-quality, contemporary living spaces.
This project exemplifies our practice’s commitment to contextual design, heritage integration, and placemaking — transforming a former military site into a vibrant, characterful residential community.
